Fuel your body with sprouts!
What are Sprouts?
Sprouts are baby vegetables at their earliest stage of growth. All plants must go through the sprouting stage. If microgreens are plant toddlers, sprouts are infants.
At this young stage, precious nutrients stored within the seed are fully unlocked to help the little seed grow into a big, strong plant. Each seed is a true treasure trove of nutrition and benefits—and sprouting is the key. Here’s why sprouts are so amazing. They’re…
- One of the most nutrient-dense foods on the planet
- Easy to digest + highly bioavailable
- Environmentally sustainable + supportive
- Vibrant + delicious!
Step 1: Soaking
Pour seeds into your preferred grower + soak them in water at room temp. For most seeds, an overnight soak is perfect, 6-8 hours. The most important thing is to avoid over soaking your seeds. Check your variety for specific soaking times.
Step 2: Growing
Once soaked, drain the water. Give your seeds a quick but thorough rinse 2x daily.
Step 3: Harvesting
Within a week (depending on the variety), you’re ready to harvest from your kitchen garden! Pop a handful into your mouth, and store the rest in the fridge. Your sprouts should stay fresh for about a week!
